5 Reasons to hit the pool during your summer pregnancy!
1) Keeps you cool
If you don't have AC, and are getting tired of hanging out at the mall to find relief from the heat, a cool dip in a pool will help to keep you cool and fresh when the temperatures outside are climbing.
2) Relieves swelling
Submerging your legs and ankles in water helps to boost circulation, which relieves blood from pooling in your feet. It also helps to push fluids from your tissue into your veins, which can then be filtered out by your kidneys.
3) Low impact exercise
Exercising in the water is a great way to feel weightless and getting in your 30 mins of prenatal cardio, without putting to much pressure on your legs and back or aggravating your loosening joints.
4) Eases sciatic pain
Floating in the water helps to relieve all the pressure the baby is putting onto your pelvic nerve and may even help them settle into a different position.
5) Preps you for L&D
Practicing a good swimming work out routine will increase your endurance and strength. Both of which come in very handy when it comes to labour and pushing the baby out.
