Maternity and nursing Festival outfit Favourites
Summer festivals are amongst us!
That warm summer Sunday downtown, or at a local park, with the warm light wind softly blowing and the local band playing their “festive” tunes. All while enjoying the sights and sounds on a perfect Sunday. But, now that you’re pregnant, or new to motherhood, you might be wondering “what do I wear?” Well, we’ve got you covered with some of our favourite picks for this festive summer season!
Lilac Fest (Sunday June 4th)
Soaking up some of Calgary’s hipster lifestyle, at Lilac Fest, on Sunday calls for some good boho dresses! We have a few. My fave is this Floral Ruffle Boho Dress by Papillon. Although it's not a maternity outfit, it looks cute with any bump, or lifestyle, after your pregnancy! Style this up with a cute choker, gladiator sandals and some serious reflective shades!
Calgary Stampede (July 7-16)
Listen, if you’re not local to Calgary, there are three things you should know about the Stampede. #1: You walk, A LOT. #2: Don’t rely on the weather network. Just bring a little bit of everything and #3: The food is worth the visit!
So when dressing, after your new baby has arrived, I would recommend something fun and comfortable. @Patricachangny (IG) has it right. A cute Boob Simone Tank, with easy breastfeeding access, a pair of white Baxter Distressed Shorts and a pair of your favourite cowboy boots! YeeHaaaw (we don’t actually say that). Alternately, the tank looks so cute with some tights (as pictured). I recommend Mother Tucker leggings with the compression control top, your fave shades and those matching Converse's (it gets pretty sticky in sandals).
Sun and Salsa Fest (July 19)
Ahhh, a little taste of Mexico! This is probably my personal fave, partially to do with my salsa addiction. For this, we voted Papillon again; the Angel Hem dress is the perfect taste for some salsa dancing, or salsa dipping... HA! Plus, this dress is great for bumps, a nursing baby (or two) and the best part... It can be worn afterwards too!
Inglewood Sun Fest (August 5th)
Amongst all of the already amazing shopping in Inglewood, they have this great festival with entertainment, vendors and live music. So head down in your Ripe Side Tie Maxi (comes in two colours) and rock that bump! Add a floppy hat, or cap, like blogger @kimvanoncen (IG) styles below. Stay cool and cute! Plus, it's another one of our dresses that can be worn afterwards! It's one of the dresses I wear all the time ;).
So Bella’s, those are our picks for some of the summer festivals we have here in Calgary. If you’re not in Calgary, I’m sure there are a ton of outdoor festivals in your area you can enjoy these fashions at! Leave us a comment on which is your favourite and why.
