Woman Crush Wednesday - Kamploops Littles - Kelsey Birtch

We are thrilled to introduce our very first Woman Crush Wednesday blog post, penned by the inspiring content creator and new mom, Kelsey Birtch.  Kelsey is the creator behind the @Kamloopslittles social page. Kelsey shares her journey of balancing motherhood with her desire to support and connect with her new mama/caregiver community. As her priorities shifted in her new role as Mom, she has seamlessly transitioned her career to accommodate her new lifestyle and to reach other moms by sharing her knowledge along the way. Take it away Kelsey! ⬇️

1 year in and it’s crazy how my priorities have changed. From relaxing on the couch sipping a Paloma, to shushing and rocking my mini me to sleep. What a rollercoaster. Does anyone actually tell us what it’s really like? Would we have believed them? There is no training or manual to follow, just here you go! Good luck! Call a family or friend if you have any questions! 1 year in and we’re doing it though! We have a happy little adventurous monkey who tests our limits and boundaries every single day, I wouldn’t have it any other way.

Kamloops Littles was created because I saw a huge gap in this city for what activities were available to new mamas and their babies. There was a lot of conflicting information about what drop ins were available, where to get postpartum support and where to find baby and toddler products.  Through my page, I am trying to organize that information as much as I can and be a 1 stop space for mamas and caregivers. My goal is to connect families to the services and products they want and need. Let's be real, who has time to look all this up on dozens of different pages. I wanted to make it easier for everyone!

I think a big part of creating a balance in new motherhood is accepting and running with your new identity, just as long as you make time for yourself as well. I am currently on maternity leave from my full time job, and I seriously don’t know how these mamas do it! It’s busy enough being a stay at home mama! So, in the meantime it’s motherhood 95% of the time with a little me time sprinkled in when I get a chance (when dada comes home to takeover).

Some of my favorite ways to indulge are with a relaxing bath with epsom salt, a fancy non-alcoholic cocktail, or my fav, binge watching reality tv to get out of my own head a little, or all 3 at once to really take advantage of those few minutes. 😅

I recently revamped my page moving from a product reviewer and blogger to a family page, because once you have a baby, it’s baby everything, so why not make it easier on myself and other mamas and share the knowledge! I love showcasing amazing products for mamas and expecting mamas.

I found it extremely difficult to shop for maternity clothes in my small city when I was pregnant. Even the big clothing chains told me to shop online since they did not carry maternity clothing. How bizarre?!

That is how I found Ella Bella Maternity Boutique! I love their print selection, it’s very much my style which was super helpful, especially after only seeing baggy Disney tee’s in a certain well known brand… umm no thanks! I prefer cute dresses, cute but stretchy pants and diverse clothing options, especially ones that function as both maternity and nursing, yes please!

So, if you are an expecting and/or new mama in the Kamloops Area, stop by my page and say hi! If you have a service or product that you want to share, let me know!  There is nothing better than supporting each other and building our communities.
